Who can become a member?
“Sønderborg Born” is a community for people aged 18–35 who want to keep their connection to their home town. And it’s completely free to join! We also welcome those of you who may not have been born in Sønderborg but have stayed here for a period.
How to become a member
Become a member by signing up for our newsletter. That way, you’ll always be up to date with what’s going on in Sønderborg and the surrounding area, and you’ll have access to collaborations with local companies in connection with your studies or other activities.
In Sønderborg, we know that young people are our future, which is why we prioritise them and their activities. The first ever Tilting-at-the-Ring Festival Youth Lunch was a great success, with 850 children from Sønderborg – both local residents and those from other towns. Stine and Nicolaj have moved back to Sønderborg
It wasn’t Sønderborg’s beautiful nature that made the difference to married couple Stine Paulsen and Nicolaj Gottlieb. They already lived in the scenic Virum, with its easy access to lakes and forests. They love Sønderborg’s unique coastal landscape now that they live here, but that wasn’t what clinched the deal either. What made them sell their terraced house in Virum and move back to Sønderborg, where they both grew up, was the quality of life and the opportunity to commute and be close to family, not to mention the slower pace of life and the opportunity to be more present.

The Bonde family moved home to Als and created a life that they thrive in and enjoy on a daily basis. They have everything they need right here.
Homecomers: We are making our dreams come true in Sønderborg
There’s no place like home. These are the words of Christine Nørgaard Skylvad, who, after studying and living in Aarhus for a number of years, has moved back to Sønderborg with her husband Christian. They have built their dream home here and landed exciting jobs.
We found love in Sønderborg
It was the dream of an education in mechatronics that drew Sophie Hansen from Germany and Kasper Fredslund Christensen from Skodborg to Sønderborg. This is where they met and where they will stay.

Tre sygeplejerske-studerende kører hver morgen sammen til uddannelsen i Aabenraa. For dem er det nemlig Sønderborg, der kan byde på det studieliv, de ønsker.
